Once we enter the room is where the real fun begin. Once we arrived we were told that we would have to pay $100 for the extra person in the room. Even though it was already paid for via. We received 3 follow up calls, from the front desk saying that if we didn’t come in 10 mins they would give our room to someone else.

We proceeded to tell them that we would be checking in late due to the fact that, we were in town working a concert at the beach that ended late. Our experience started by the front desk calling us to ask what time we where gonna check in. Really a shame as Choice is a good brand…hope they can get this place under control cause it doesn’t make them look good.I’m all our years of traveling for work, have we experienced such a rude, unprofessional, and so poorly kept establishment. I have stayed in hostels that have provided more. Was it worth the price they charged? Absolutely not by any stretch of the imagination. Even though there were two double beds in the room one towel. ** 1st hotel I have stayed that gave one towel, one washcloth and one bathmat. ** 1st hotel I have stayed that the front desk is not manned (I learned this because when I walked up to the desk to ask for shampoo, nobody was there and it was locked…this was at 5:20 in the afternoon). ** 1st hotel I have stayed that didn’t have a phone in the room (I learned this because I wanted to call the front desk and ask for some shampoo but couldn’t with no room phone). ** 1st hotel I have stayed that did not provide shampoo and/or a bar of soap. I had to walk across the street and get ice from the macjine at another hotel. If you don’t wait and get a space youre out of luck and could have to park blocks away ** 1st hotel I have stayed that did not have an ice machine (wasn’t that theirs is broken) they just don’t have one. I’ll just list all the firsts I experienced: ** 1st hotel I have stayed in that has more rooms than parking spaces. I’ll say that I have stayed in many, many hotels/motels around the world and some have been one step above camping…but this place. I stay at Choice properties all the time which is why I was even more surprised by this experience. Its very, very rare that I post a complaint about anything…but this place….wow.

We will never stay there again or recommend this motel to anyone. Possibly $150 for 2 nights because of the location but that is all. For 2 nights we paid $370 and it wasn’t worth it. I was left to feel “lucky” that he could get us a room even though we had our reservation for over a month. Art explained that always overbooks the motel. Obviously, Angel just didn’t want to be bothered by us. When we arrived “Angel” tried to tell me he wasn’t expecting any other reservations that day and didn’t have a 2 bed room ready. We had no choice but to stay there as everything else nearby was booked solid. We came from out of state to spend time at the shore and with family. If you were blocked, you had to go to the office and tell them to have cars moved. The pool seemed clean when we arrived but was green the next day.

The pool area was full of trash and broken chairs and loungers and cigarette butts. We felt the hot air coming in so not very efficient. The a/c unit worked but there was a huge gap around it in the wall. The microwave was filthy looking like something had exploded in it. The refrigerator had food in it from prior people and wasn’t very cold. There were no towels, soap or extra toilet paper.

The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned at all prior to our arrival. It hadn’t been vacuumed or shampooed it looked like ever. He did not want to be bothered and it was obvious. He sighed and made excuses when I asked for towels. Angel - Art’s helper or assistant was ignorant and rude. it is extremely old and in need of repair. The motel has not been remodeled as we saw advertised. Cons - The pictures online are not accurate. No bugs or smell - Art - the manager was very nice and eager to help you.
